What’s the minimum age?
You must be at least 13 years old to start umpiring for your local league. District umpiring requires more experience and skill.
Is training available?
Yes! Many local leagues offer basic training, and NH organizes state-wide clinics. We also assist by working games with new umpires and offer regional umpire school opportunities.
Is there pay?
Little League doesn’t offer direct payment, but some local leagues do pay for completed games.
Do I get equipment?
While we don't provide uniforms or equipment, local leagues may offer plate gear. You can also use the Gerry Davis store for discounted Little League gear.
Why should I umpire?
Umpiring is a great way to get involved in your community, give back to the game, and connect with others who share your passion for baseball or softball.
How does scheduling work?
Umpiring is flexible! You can work as little or as much as you want, based on your schedule.
